This is in General a
Great Machine |
October
8, 2000 |
This MP3man is very light, easy-to-use and has all the functionality that you
want. The toughest part of this MP3man is the installation. It did take me
awhile to set up the BIOS (for ECP mode) and the software. But once you got that
right, other part is easy. 32MB RAM might not be enough for you but it already
can store 32 minutes of music without a problem (you might want to get 64MB
version if you are looking for more storage). In addition, it can also do voice
recording and I found that very useful especially during meeting. The phone
memory could be useful if you don't have other electronic device (e.g. Palm) to
store the data. In general, it has all the functionality of a MP3 Player you
want.
The two things I would like to see it can improve are:
1. to have a USB version so that I don't need to unplug the printer whenever I
want to sync the music.
2. make it smaller (MP3 Player should be smaller than MD player right?)
One final note: Yepp is a Korean company that specializes in making MP3 Player,
not only Samsung's are made by them, Creative's NOMAD also (except the software
part). So sound-quality-wise they are almost the same. Choose the cheaper one,
choose Samsung's!

This is a must for any magic player! You don't need to have those paper version
of magic encyclopedia any more! There are updates on the web for new sets,
ruling and pricing, too. One point to note that it requires quite a lot of
computer memory and resources, I personally view it using my Pentium II-350 and
found it quite slow. Not sure what is the best configuration but you can give it
a try and see. Strongly recommended you to buy.

Best you can get! |
August
13, 2000 |
I got my Palm V with 8MB upgraded last year and I finally decided to get a new
Palm Vx last month. The major difference I can see is the SPEED. Palm Vx is not
just a Palm V with 8MB, but it also run much faster. I am very satisfied with
the product and the only 2 things I wish it has are: 1. Colour Display 2. More
Memory (maybe add the ability to expand external memory) Btw, there are 2 new
colours of Palm Vx just came out: Millenium Blue and Champagne, both look great
too!
His show should be
better |
August
13, 2000 |
I was hoping to learn "how to talk to anyone, anytime, anywhere" but
the book doesn't tell you much about it. Rather, the book talks about Larry
himself, his rise and fall... I was so disappointed. I read the book half-way
and quit as I don't want to waste my time on it. I guess his show would be
better but I'd never watch that anyway. If you are looking for learning
something from this book, don't buy this unless you expected to read a
bibiography of Larry King.
The first Official
Guide |
August
12, 2000 |
Among all 4 volume published, this is the most comprehensive, it contains every
cards in magic during that time and this is the first - First Official Guide.
Before having this guide, collectors have to keep track with Duelist or Inquest
for a full list (in text). This book is not only a good book with all coloured
pictures, it is also the best reference for any Magic Collectors. Highly
recommended.

A Must for any MS
Office + Palm user |
August
11, 2000 |
When comparing Palm with WinCE, I like CE more just because I can transfer all
my MS Word & Excel files to CE directly... until Documents to Go came out.
Documents to Go give you the ability to convert MS Word and Excel files to
Documents that readable by the Palm. Although it doesn't convert Excel files
perfectly but it already did an amazing job and ease my palm life. Recommended
for any user who would like to read their desktop Word and Excel files on the
Palm.
Best Palm Keyboard you
can get! |
July
15, 2000 |
I know that you might think, "hmm, the best part of Palm is the graffiti
and we should stick with that". I can write 29 words per minutes but there
were times when you want to do faster, e.g. during a meeting and you need to
take minutes and so on. That is when the Palm keyboard comes in handy. This
keyboard was nicely designed (yup, you can flip it to the size of a Palm), using
really "high-tech feel" material and it's full size key is great!
There is one thing I really want it in my wish list. Currently the keyboard is
similar to a notebook keyboard which doesn't have the "feel" of the
keyboard of the desktop PC, I really want to see this to be improved as I don't
like the feel of notebook keyboard. Am I expecting too much?
Volume 4 - too soon |
July
15, 2000 |
Volume 4 contains Urza Saga, Legacy, Classic, Portal-3K, Unglued, Starter as
well as Top 1998 World Championship Decks. Wizard of the Coast really should
wait until at least Urza Destiny come out before relasing this volume. But this
is again a great book with nice picture, information as well as the printing
quality is great. Although it might not be the right time to issue it but as a
M:tg collector, this is one of the book that should be on your bookshelf (Volume
4).
Greate & Easy to
read book |
July
7, 2000 |
Its a great book! Its simple and with lots of graphics! Best for those who
doesn't like lengthy paragraphs. It uses cartoon to introduce the basics of
developing a marketing plan.
Best Trackball ever |
July
6, 2000 |
I have been using the one without the wheel few years ago without a problem.
Changed to this new one recently (just because the wheel) and it's getting even
better. Once you used this Marble, you'll never want to use those normal mouse
back. As compared with other trackball/mouse, the cleaning part is easy and you
don't really need to clean that often as it's using "optical". Give it
a try, I hope that this can help you make the decision.
Just the Religion Vs
Science part already worth the money! |
July
4, 2000 |
The book was written based on a series of lecture the author gave in April 1963.
It is divided into 3 chapters: The Uncertainty of Science, The Uncertainty of
Values and This Unscientific Age. In the first chapter, the author drag-on too
long within the chapter for one single idea: We should keep our mind open as
there is uncertainty in science, nothing is absolute. In the second chapter, the
chapter I like most, the author tried to compare religion with science. He
divided "Religion" into 2 parts: Metaphysical and ethical. He tried to
prove that the ethical part of the religion has no conflict with science while
the metaphysical part has been retreated during times after being disproved by
science everytime. In chapter three, the author described that although the
current Age seems to be very scientific but actually it's not scientific at all.
The author showed few example to prove the unscientificness, e.g. how marketing
research use a sample size to project the whole population, showing irrelevant
advertisement to irrelevant readers, etc. Among all 3 chapters, I like chapter 2
most and just that already worth the price of the book.

Just the Elegie
already worth the money |
June
26, 2000 |
Great Performer, Great Pieces and Great Recording (DDD). Performed by the world
renown Enemble Wien-Berlin. Elegie for Horn, as a tribute to Dennis Brain,
captured my heart and mind. The only thing that bother me is also this piece
though. Gunter Hogner accidentally swallowed (and played it wrong) one note in
the piece. But then playing the piece with a Vienna Horn is already a great
challenge. To conclude: Great CD!

A must for those who
like the song "Tom's Diner" |
June
25, 2000 |
I personally like the song "Tom's Diner". Few years ago, my friend
told me that there is an album with all variations of Tom's Diner. So I went
search and search and finally got the CD. It was one of the best pop song CD in
my collection and I am still holding it now. If you like Tom's Diner, this is
definitely a must in your CD collection.
Great Jazz CDs for
beginners! |
June
25, 2000 |
I bought this CD set when I first learn to listen to Jazz music. It's great
& cheap! with lots of variety and good tones played by the celeb of all
times! e.g. Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday and many more!
If you want to save
some money, Get Live! Value |
June
24, 2000 |
Not only the card gives you the best sound system you can get, I like the way
how you can manage all the in and out from the front of the computer instead of
the back. In case you want it cheaper, don't really need to manage from the
front and don't need those software bundled, I would strongly recommend to get
Live! Value edition as it's so much cheaper and has the same quality of sound.
Innovative but bad
quality of pic |
June
24, 2000 |
When I first saw this product in the market, I think this is one of the most
innovative product (as it is not only a webcam, it can also be detached and take
pictures as a digital camera). We tested it for over a week now and found out
that one of the pitfalls (major weakness) of this camera is the bad quality of
pictures. The manual focus at the front of the camera even worsen the case as
photographer has no idea how good the "focus" is doing. i.e. you don't
really know the quality of the pictures after it was being transferred back to
the computer. I heard that Webcam Go Plus solved this problem a bit but not
really sure until we test it. To conclude, don't expect too much from it, I'll
position it as a very bad quality but cheap digital camera as for the price it
is asking for, you really can't get any digital camera in the current market.
My First Dennis' CD |
June
20, 2000 |
As Dennis' fan, every single CD he left for us worth a 5-stars! As compared with
his recording on other media, e.g. cass.tape, I don't really like the
"digitized" sound. I wish they could make CD that has the SAME sound
recorded on tape. Till then, I will keep all Dennis' CD as my private
collection.
Great |
June
16, 2000 |
If you are a magic lover like I do, you'll basically like anything related to
magic. The encyclopedia is more comprehensive but that doesn't have Magical
Shandalar which is a kiddie game that you walk around like an RPG game... fight
with playing magic card, etc... quite fun.

Great Book for ANY
Arowana lovers. |
June
13, 2000 |
Although it has less than 90 pages of content, it has a very detailed
description on how to raise an arowana (e.g. set up, transport, food, disease,
breeding, etc). It's a must for any Arowana lovers!
Too long for such a
simple book |
June
13, 2000 |
The book doesn't teach you much on the strategy on MTG. It's just too simple.
For the thickness of this book, I expected more from it.
Great Type I book |
June
13, 2000 |
Its a great type I book. Although I didn't play magic after I went to World
Championship 97, I still remember how this book trained me up on Type I
tourament. This book might be out-of-date (and out-of-print also) as the
tourament environment is completely different now.
Was my dream book |
June
13, 2000 |
I bought this book way back in 1995. At that time, MTG wasn't as hot as now. As
a MTG player and collector back then, I love this book so bad that I rarely flip
through it (as I was worried that I could damage the book). I planned to buy an
extra copy without success as it was sold out right away. This was the best book
around for MTG collectors back then, it has photos of every card in MTG at that
time. The Official Encyclopedia is better, but it didn't come out after 2 years
(1997).
Grab one if you have a chance.
Sigh, it's getting
thinner again |
June
13, 2000 |
Seems like it's getting thinner and thinner each volume. They should publish it
later (until they have enough cards to fill-in). But then as a serious MTG
collector, it's still a must to have.
Not as good as the
first one but still good! |
June
13, 2000 |
If you are a mtg collector, you definitely need this book. Although it is much
"thinner" than Volume 1 but it's still a must for any serious mtg
collector
Kotler in One THIN
Book |
June
12, 2000 |
This book is written for those who is not expert in Marketing and doesn't have
time to read through the Marketing Classics "Marketing Management"
(one of the thickest Marketing book) by the same author. As it put all Kotler's
idea in one book, it also serve as a "review" even for those who read
through "Marketing Management". If you are only allow to buy one book
from Kotler, buy this! Greate book!

Thick Book of Common
Sense |
June
12, 2000 |
I bought this book when I was a project manager wishing to improve my project
management skill. Very disappointed to discovered that the whole book was
consists of just COMMON SENSE, no insight at all.
Very easy to read book |
June
12, 2000 |
A very easy to read book, if what she said was true, Microsoft will be a great
place to work!
No new idea! |
June
12, 2000 |
It's just a direct "copy" of the marketing classics by the same
authors "Positioning". Not many new idea there.
Could be better |
June
12, 2000 |
The author presents the subject in an interesting way (thru a trip). Few good
idea in how to make better decision... the book could be shorter though.
(Chinese edition)
Simple and Easy to
Read but Not enough "Depth" |
June
3, 2000 |
Its a good book, it is simple and easy to read (almost point form). It gives you
a general idea on how to plan your career but it doesn't have enough
"depth", For the price, for the "hard cover", I expect more
"details" from this book.

If you like playing
M:tg, you'll like this book |
June
3, 2000 |
I like the way it divded the different colour of magic into different group of
people and how they describe all those card function, e.g. earthquake, etc. The
end of the story is kind of "wrap up too fast"... and seems not so
"logical", but anyway, if you like to play M:tg, you will like this
book for sure!
